Get to Know the Role

As Head of Product & Map Operations for GrabMaps, you'll ensure accuracy mapping data across Southeast Asia, driving strategy and execution to support Grab's services and expand commercial offerings. You will oversee the product roadmap, ground-level operations, and manage key B2B and B2G partnerships while leading a high-performing team.

This role offers a unique chance to scale a critical function supporting millions of daily transactions. Combining product management expertise with operational leadership, you will deliver a world-class mapping experience for users and partners.

You will be reporting to Head of Product, Geo and based onsite at our Grab One North Office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

Product Leadership

• Drive the roadmap for Grab Maps' operational tools, including map editors, data collection apps, and quality systems, while collaborating with engineering and data teams to enhance efficiency and data quality.
• Conduct market research and gather user feedback to address operational needs and local market nuances.
• Act as thought leader, leveraging technology and data to improve mapping capabilities.

Operations Management

• Lead and grow a diverse team across multiple countries, overseeing mapping operations like data collection, validation, editing, and quality control.
• Manage vendor performance, monitor KPIs to ensure data accuracy and freshness, and optimize workflows to scale operations efficiently.
• Handle budget and resource allocation to improve data quality while reducing costs.

Commercial & Partnership Expansion

• Support Grab Maps' B2B services by onboarding new clients and managing relationships with global organizations and government agencies.
• Expand B2G offerings by building partnerships with agencies across Southeast Asia and globally.

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the key liaison between Grab Maps teams and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Communicate performance and roadmaps to leadership and collaborate with regional teams to adapt mapping strategies to local needs and regulations.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• 10+ years of experience in product management, operations leadership, or similar roles, with proven success in scaling regional or multi-country teams.
• Experience with managing large vendor and contractor teams, including negotiating contracts, ensuring performance, and maintaining quality standards.
• Strong understanding of GIS and mapping technologies, with experience in mapping data collection and quality assurance processes as a significant advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to define product strategy, manage roadmaps, and drive products from ideation to launch.
• Exceptional data-driven decision, comfortable with defining and tracking metrics to measure success.
• Experience communicating product updates, milestones, and progress to internal and external partners to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership, with experience in business development or B2B/B2G partnerships as a plus.
• Comfortable in with changing priorities, fluent in English, and proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia or other Southeast Asian languages is a bonus.
