Head of Sales - Lift Service & Modernisation

Who are we?

WeMaintain operates across France, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Singapore and Hong Kong, supporting customers with the maintenance and modernisation of critical building equipment.

We work across lifts, escalators, automatic doors and fire safety systems, combining field expertise, technology and data-driven management.

Our approach is based on a simple belief: maintenance can be more reliable, transparent and efficient when frontline teams are given the right tools, the right level of autonomy and a clear view of equipment performance.

Since 2026, Otis has been the majority shareholder of WeMaintain. This partnership gives us the backing and expertise of a global industry leader, while allowing WeMaintain to retain its operational autonomy, technology and way of working.

Three values continue to guide how we work every day:

• Care – working with respect, attention and accountability, internally and with our customers

• Grit – following through, with high standards and perseverance

• Uniqueness – valuing different perspectives, new ideas and better ways of doing things

We don’t just maintain buildings. We transform how they are operated.

The context behind the hire

We are looking for a Head of Sales – Lift Service & Modernisation to take ownership of our commercial activity in Singapore. This is a replacement hire, but more importantly, it marks a reset of how we want to approach sales in Singapore.

We have an established local operation, an existing customer base and significant market opportunity. We now want to bring even more structure, consistency and proactive new-business development to our commercial approach, so we can fully capture the opportunity ahead. There is therefore a lot of scope to build, shape and improve.

The person joining us will inherit an existing business and pipeline, but will also be expected to critically assess what is working, what is not, and put the foundations in place for the next stage of growth. You will work closely with Samson, Managing Director Singapore, Cheryl, Global Head of Sales, as well as Operations, Finance and the wider WeMaintain leadership team.

Your core challenge will be simple to describe, but demanding to execute: Build a predictable commercial engine for Singapore and personally help us win more lift maintenance and modernisation business.

What makes this role different at WeMaintain?

This is not a role where you will inherit a mature sales organisation with fully established processes, perfect CRM data and a predictable pipeline. Part of your job will be to create those things. You will have significant autonomy to review and reshape the way we approach the Singapore market.

Concretely, you will be expected to:

• Build a proactive new-business strategy, with less reliance on incoming tenders

• Identify the accounts, portfolios and market segments where WeMaintain should focus

• Personally open doors with building owners, managing agents, consultants and public-sector stakeholders

• Develop opportunities across lift maintenance, service, modernisation and replacement

• Create stronger discipline around prospecting, qualification, CRM usage, forecasting and pipeline management

• Review how we approach pricing, tenders and commercial decision-making

• Strengthen the collaboration between Sales and Operations, ensuring what we sell is both profitable and operationally deliverable

• Develop strategic account plans for priority customers and prospects

• Assess the current commercial organisation and help define what the Singapore sales team should look like going forward

• Coach and develop sales team members while creating stronger ownership and accountability

And importantly: You will not only manage sales. You will sell.

We are looking for someone who enjoys being in front of customers, creating opportunities and closing business, not someone who wants to lead exclusively through reporting and team management.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who combines industry knowledge, commercial drive and hands-on leadership. You should be comfortable defining the strategy while also being personally involved in the opportunities that matter most.

The essentials

• Significant commercial experience within the lift/elevator industry

• Strong experience across maintenance/service and/or modernisation

• A proven track record of personally winning new business, rather than exclusively managing existing accounts

• Strong understanding of the Singapore lift market, its customers, procurement landscape and competitive environment

• Experience leading, coaching or developing salespeople

• Strong understanding of pricing, margins, technical constraints and operational risk within service contracts

• Experience managing complex tenders, negotiations and long sales cycles

• Ability to build and manage a structured sales pipeline and forecast

• A hands-on leadership style: comfortable setting the strategy and personally progressing key opportunities

• An open, transparent and collaborative approach, with a willingness to share information and work closely with both local and global teams

• Professional fluency in English

What will make the difference

• An established network among managing agents, building owners, consultants or public-sector organisations

• Experience within a major OEM or established independent lift service provider

• A proven track record of winning recurring maintenance portfolios

• Experience with GeBiz or other public-sector procurement processes in Singapore

• Experience with Salesforce or another structured CRM environment

• Experience building, restructuring or professionalising a sales organisation

• Experience working closely with Operations on service profitability and delivery

These are genuine advantages, but we do not expect every candidate to tick every box. What matters most is a strong understanding of the lift industry, the Singapore market and the ability to generate and close new business.

What you should know before joining

We want to be transparent about the challenge. This is a role for someone who is comfortable entering an environment where not everything is already structured. You will need to question existing ways of working, make decisions with imperfect information and build some of the processes you might normally expect to inherit. There will be pressure to deliver commercial results while improving the foundations behind those results.

You will need to balance:

• Short-term revenue generation

• Building a stronger qualified pipeline

• Developing the right sales behaviours and processes

• Improving forecast reliability

• Developing the team

• Maintaining strong alignment with Operations

In return, you will have an unusual level of influence over how WeMaintain approaches the Singapore market, how the sales organisation develops and where we invest for future growth.

This role will suit someone who enjoys building, fixing and winning. It will probably suit you less if you are looking for an established commercial machine, a highly defined remit or a leadership position focused mainly on managing others.

What we expect in your first months

We want expectations to be clear from the beginning.

In your first 30 days

Your priority will be to understand the business before changing it. You will:

• Review the existing customer portfolio and commercial pipeline

• Understand previous opportunities, wins and losses

• Assess current Salesforce data and sales processes

• Review pricing, tendering and qualification practices

• Understand the current sales team and individual capabilities

• Build relationships with Operations, Finance and key internal stakeholders

• Meet priority customers, prospects and industry contacts

• Develop your own view of the opportunities and challenges within the Singapore lift market

By 3 months

We expect you to have established:

• A clear commercial diagnosis and set of priorities

• A defined target-account and new-business plan

• Reliable opportunity stages and stronger pipeline visibility

• A regular rhythm of pipeline and forecast reviews

• Clearer qualification standards for opportunities and tenders

• Strategic plans for priority accounts and prospects

• An initial view of the commercial team structure and capabilities required

And importantly, you should already be personally creating and progressing new opportunities.

By 6 months

We expect to see:

• A materially stronger qualified pipeline

• More proactive opportunities generated outside incoming tenders

• Improved forecasting discipline

• Strategic accounts actively being developed

• Stronger commercial ownership across the team

• Clearer alignment between Sales and Operations

• More structured prospecting and account development

• A commercial organisation operating with greater accountability and visibility

At 12 months

We will consider your first year a success if Singapore has:

• A more predictable and repeatable commercial engine

• Stronger new-business generation

• Measurable growth across maintenance and modernisation

• Better pipeline and forecast reliability

• Clear sales ownership and accountability

• Stronger strategic relationships with priority customers

• A commercial team and operating rhythm capable of supporting the next stage of growth

What we offer

• A senior leadership role with direct influence on WeMaintain’s growth in Singapore

• Significant autonomy to shape the local commercial strategy and sales organisation

• Close partnership with the Singapore Managing Director and Global Head of Sales

• An international environment with collaboration across Asia and Europe

• The opportunity to combine the agility and autonomy of WeMaintain with the backing of a major international industry player

• Local health and outpatient benefits

• Mobile phone and mobile plan

• Business-related travel expenses covered
