Junior Financial Controller

Our client, a Singapore\-based entity part of a global Multinational Group, is seeking a Junior Financial Controller to support its local operations. This role oversees the full spectrum of finance activities for the Singapore business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, strong internal controls, and effective financial support for Business Units and Project Teams.

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and Group reporting requirements.
  


• Ensure effective financial monitoring and follow\-up with Business Units and project teams, providing visibility on financial performance and supporting operational decision\-making.
  


• Compile and analyze financial information for internal reporting and management purposes.
  


• Establish, maintain, and coordinate accounting records and accounting control procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  


• Analyze and review expenditures against budgets and monitor project and operational financial performance.
  


• Review accounting reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  


• Support Project Managers and Business Unit leaders in preparing project budgets, financial forecasts, and performance monitoring.
  


• Provide guidance and support to project and administrative teams on financial processes and accounting policies.
  


• Analyze financial data and assist Business Units in interpreting financial results and performance indicators.
  


• Maintain financial systems and procedures to ensure adherence to Group policies and governance guidelines.
  


• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management.
  


• Provide financial guidance to project teams to strengthen financial understanding and improve reporting processes.
  


• Liaise with external auditors and support statutory audit requirements.
  


• Conduct internal reviews or audits when required to ensure financial governance and compliance.
  


• Collaborate with operational teams and other departments to ensure financial alignment with business objectives.
  


• Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies, taking reasonable care of personal safety and the safety of others.
  


• Perform additional responsibilities as required in coordination with the direct manager and evolving business needs.
  

The role requires managing financial processes within a project\-driven engineering environment, balancing reporting requirements, operational financial support, and compliance with Group financial governance standards.

• A degree in Commerce or Accounting is preferred.
  


• Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
  


• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and forecasts.
  


• High proficiency in financial systems (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, and BI tools).
  


• Ability to work within both flexible schedules and fixed reporting deadlines, particularly during month\-end closing.
  


• Ability to address unforeseen operational or financial system issues that may impact the business.
  

• Strong integrity and confidentiality, with the ability to build trust across the organization.
