Regional Controller (Business Partnering)

My client is an established MNC and a key player in its industry, currently looking to hire a strong finance business partner to oversee a regional portfolio, working closely with the MD and key customers

Requirements

• Degree qualified with strong regional experience
• Track record of excellent business partnering skills, with an ability to stand firm, challenge, and influence stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills, resilient, resourceful, able to value add to the business and operations
• Excellent communication skills, proactive, driven, confident and highly adaptable
• Experience in supporting MD/ GM closely, as well as working with customers can be advantageous
• Shipping industry exposure or an appreciation & interest to know more about the industry will be helpful

Job Scope

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will have ownership of financial control and operational excellence across the region, leading a finance team to deliver consistent and quality service. You will drive improvements in reporting accuracy, forecasting, and variance analysis, while ensuring robust controls, proactive risk monitoring, and adherence to payment governance and Group policies. Part of the role involves supporting audit and compliance matters, contributing to finance systems enhancements, and working with finance operations to scale and standardise service delivery.

Beyond financial control, the role serves as a strategic finance partner to regional leadership, commercial, and operations teams - bringing analytical rigour, commercial challenge, and actionable insight to drive sound decision-making. You will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and rolling outlook processes, whilst analysing customer and business profitability to identify pricing and cost optimisation opportunities. The role also supports the development of commercial models and contracting frameworks for both existing and prospective clients, leveraging data and digital tools to enhance visibility and monitoring. From a governance perspective, the role acts as the regional finance lead for stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment with Group standards on statutory reporting, technical accounting, and policy compliance, whilst maintaining a strong and consistent control environment across the region
