Our client is an established European manufacturer and a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of centrifugal pumps and liquid ring vacuum pumps, with a strong footprint in the food, chemical, and wastewater industries. As part of a strategic expansion into Asia, the company is establishing its Singapore operations and seeking a Regional Sales Manager to drive commercial growth across the ASEAN region.
The role
Reporting to the Sales Director at the companyâs headquarters in Europe, the Regional Sales Manager acts as the primary field sales representative across the ASEAN region, covering Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
The successful candidate will develop deep customer relationships, drive new and continued product sales, and maintain the technical knowledge required to engage substantively on product specifications and customer requirements. The role combines field sales, account management, technical advisory, and strategic territory development.
Key responsibilities
Commercial development
- Develop and implement customer strategies aligned with the companyâs global and regional business plans.
- Ensure retention of existing accounts and secure new business across the ASEAN territories in line with Business Plan targets.
- Promote the product lines through direct engagement with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and distributors.
- Prepare quotes and proposals that maximise customer-perceived value and align with Business Plan guidelines.
- Negotiate commercial agreements within the terms established by headquarters.
- Technical and customer engagement
- Analyse customer specifications and requirements, liaising with the presales engineering team at headquarters for further evaluation where needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer enquiries, product issues, and corrective actions.
- Respond with commitment and sensitivity to the needs of both internal and external customers, promoting a quality and continuous-improvement mindset.
Reporting and coordination
- Prepare regular reports on sales activities, expenses, forecasts, KPIs, and territory performance.
- Attend monthly sales meetings with headquarters in Europe.
- Represent the company at industry exhibitions and trade shows across ASEAN.
- Recommend product improvements, new product opportunities, and market-penetration strategies to the headquarters Sales Director.
What we are looking for
Education
- University degree (Bachelorâs or Masterâs) in Mechanical Engineering, or in Business Administration with substantive experience in mechanical or hydraulic design, or technical support.
- Formal commercial and account management training is an advantage.
- Experience
- A minimum of 5 yearsâ experience in a sales, technical, or engineering role within industrial pumps or adjacent markets (food processing equipment, chemical processing, water and wastewater treatment, or similar).
- Proven track record of managing B2B sales cycles with OEMs and distributors across multiple markets.
Languages
- Business fluency in English is essential, as it is the primary language of internal communication and of commercial engagement across the region.
- Given the ASEAN coverage, working knowledge of one or more regional languages â Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, Vietnamese, or Thai â will be considered an advantage.
