JOB SUMMARY:The Structural Engineer is responsible for developing structural engineering designs and analyses to support architectural and engineering projects from concept through construction. The role involves performing structural calculations, coordinating with project teams and contractors, and ensuring that designs, documentation and site works comply with project requirements, codes and quality standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:• Develop structural engineering designs from conceptual, schematic to detailed design stages based on project requirements.
• Perform structural design analysis, calculations and modelling to support safe and efficient design solutions.
• Participate in tendering processes and support evaluation of contractor and subcontractor submissions.
• Monitor and review contractor and subcontractor works to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing documents, drawing registers, RFIs and shop drawings in compliance with ISO standards.
• Assist Project Directors and Project Managers in reviewing design submissions, specifications, calculations and technical documents.
• Ensure structural designs and BIM models are developed in accordance with project requirements and relevant codes.
• Attend to site queries, inspections and technical issues during construction.
• Review and approve contractor shop drawings, method statements and material submissions.
• Coordinate with architects, M&E engineers and other consultants to resolve design and site-related issues.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 3–8 years of relevant working experience in structural engineering consultancy or a similar capacity.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to multi-task, learn quickly and work independently when required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; familiarity with structural analysis software is an advantage.
