Job Description - System Engineer (IT systems Infra)

System Engineer (IT Systems Infra)

- Assist project or team leads in evaluating and recommending appropriate IT infrastructure products (commercial or open source) that meet project or customer requirements.

- Take charge of or support the deployment of these products, including integration and testing activities at the system -wide level.

- Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines (e.g., software, cybersecurity, integration) in delivering turn -key systems or proof -of -concept (POC) initiatives.

- Monitor the health of infrastructure services, manage server availability, and assist in resolving operational issues.

- Create and maintain technical documentation on operations, audit best practices, troubleshooting, and solutions knowledge base.

- Manage system recovery processes (backup/restore of infrastructure services and critical production server data/images) and assist in preparing incident reports during outages.

- Participate in failover or disaster recovery exercises for the IT infrastructure when required.

- Deploy security fixes on infrastructure services following enterprise vulnerability and patching strategies.

- Support the administration of servers, VMware/Hyper -V platforms, and domain controllers/LDAP servers.

- Participate in optimizing system performance and capacity planning.

Requirements

- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines.

- At least three years of relevant IT experience in deploying and managing IT infrastructure systems.

- Knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2016/2019, Linux, VMware/Hyper -V virtualization, and Azure Cloud.

- Understanding of infrastructure best practices, system technologies, operation processes, and system engineering methodologies.

- Working knowledge of cybersecurity technologies is desirable.

- Technical certification in cloud and system technologies, such as CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VCP (VMware), VMCE (Veeam), CEH, etc., is advantageous.

- Good written and oral communication skills.

- Motivated team player with a keen eye for detail, but able to work independently as well when required.
