Oversee the day-to-day technical operations of assigned oil tankers, maintaining required operational and technical standards.
Monitor vessel performance and coordinate corrective actions to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Maintain vessel certificates, technical records, and statutory documentation, ensuring they remain current and properly organized.
Administer the planned maintenance system and follow up on scheduled maintenance activities across assigned vessels.
Coordinate class, statutory, and other required vessel surveys, including preparation and follow-through on identified items.
Plan and oversee dry-docking activities, repair projects, and other major vessel maintenance work.
Track repair and maintenance progress while coordinating with vessels, service providers, and relevant stakeholders.
Evaluate vessel crew performance and encourage continuous improvement in technical competency and onboard effectiveness.
Develop and control vessel technical budgets, monitoring expenditures against approved allocations.
Carry out additional technical and operational duties assigned by the Vessel Manager or Technical Manager.
Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 2 or 3 as a minimum, with relevant marine engineering qualifications.
Tanker seagoing experience as a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer, or at least 2 years of Technical Superintendent experience handling oil tankers and bunker tankers.
Strong technical knowledge of tanker operations, vessel maintenance, surveys, dry-docking, and planned maintenance systems.
Demonstrated integrity and professionalism, with strong leadership, teamwork, management, and communication capabilities.
Effective written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate confidently with vessel personnel and relevant stakeholders.
