Supervise vessel repairs, defect rectification and maintenance projects from planning through completion.
Review machinery performance, technical reports and recurring defects to identify corrective and preventive actions.
Prepare and control vessel technical budgets, expenditure forecasts and maintenance costs.
Assess engineering crew performance and provide technical guidance, coaching and operational support.
Work with ship managers, service providers, suppliers and vessel personnel to minimise downtime and maintain technical compliance.
Requirements
Certificate of Competency Class 2 or 3 in Marine Engineering, or an equivalent recognised engineering qualification.
Tanker seagoing experience as a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer, or at least two years of experience as a Technical Superintendent supporting oil or bunker tankers.
Strong knowledge of vessel machinery, planned maintenance, statutory surveys, dry-docking and tanker technical operations.
Competence in technical budgeting, repair management, troubleshooting and engineering documentation.
Professional and accountable, with effective English communication, leadership, teamwork and management skills.
