Vice President, Modelling Actuary

Our client, a leading global insurer, is seeking a Life Actuarial professional to join as a VP Modelling Actuary.

You’ll set the standard for how models are built, challenged and governed, and act as the go-to expert for the wider actuarial function.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee actuarial model development, ensuring compliance with model risk policies and controls
• Review and challenge model methodologies, assumptions, outputs and associated risks
• Provide modelling expertise and support to actuarial teams
• Drive efficiency improvements across models, tools and processes
• Strengthen model governance (documentation, monitoring, issue remediation) while coaching and developing junior colleagues

Critical requirements

• Qualified actuary with membership of a recognised actuarial body
• Strong actuarial experience, ideally including hands-on modelling and stochastic valuation
• Sound technical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with good actuarial judgement
• Proven ability to manage projects, hit deadlines and prioritise competing demands
• Clear written and verbal communication, able to explain complex concepts to varied stakeholders
