Civil Engineer or Civil Technologist - Cape TownFull job descriptionEmployment Type: PermanentReference No: 13368Cape TownQualifications and experience:BTech / BEng in Civil Engineering.Minimum of eight years post-graduation experienceExperience in designing municipal services (water & sanitation, then bulk earthworks/platforms, roads and stormwater would be advantageous);Experience in professional services tendering and agreements.Experience and understanding of statutory approval processes.Experience in construction contract documentation compilation (GCC, FIDIC, NEC), and procurement processes would be advantageousExperience in AutoCAD, Civil3D, WaterMate and PipeMate or similar design packages will be an advantage Responsibilities: Planning and/or conceptual design, detail design, specification, procurement process administration and contract administration of projects.Manage commercial, quality, resourcing, scheduling and technical risk during project lifecycle.Carrying out measurements and valuations to produce accurate project schedules, quantities and valuations at all stages of a project.Providing project information and assistance to enable effective project management.Assistance with technical advancement and business development by pursuing technical excellence and maintaining quality assurance on projects.Ensuring that project timelines and deliverables are met.Excellent technical writing skills, with good communication and time management skills.Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of statutory procedures and technical standards.Work well in a team environmentStrong communication and people relation management skills.Work well in a dynamic team environment and able to function independently with limited guidanceSense of urgency and ability to respond efficiently and effectively in the execution of project tasksSuitable candidate must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle, candidate must be willing to travel to remote sites.The candidate will also play role in the designing and review of work and the mentoring of staff as part of our team Requirements: Experience in AutoCAD, Civil3D, WaterMate and PipeMate or similar design packages will be an advantage Remuneration: Negotiable and based on the candidates qualifications and years of relevant experience Starting Date: 5/7/2024 12:00:00 AM PLEASE NOTE Closing date:5/16/2024 12:00:00 AMDOING GOOD WHILE DOING BUSINESS
