We are looking for an Engineer: Process Safety to strengthen the group-wide approach to the identification, analysis and control of process safety risks and implementation of the RBM process safety management program.

Reporting to the Manager: Risk Management and Process Safety, you will:

• Develop and integrate the process safety management system into the HSE Management System and operational management processes.
• Provide technical support to the operational teams managing the process safety risk.
• Investigate accidents/ incidents and recommends corrective/ remedial measures.
• Build and maintain a strong technical relationship with peers through the Rio Tinto Process Safety Working Group, other business units and the Corporate HSEC team.
• Coordinate, develop and implement process safety strategic plan and roadmap.
• Share process safety risk management strategies with both internal and broader Rio Tinto stakeholders to leverage value creation through sharing knowledge, experience, resources and skills.
• Develop and maintain leading practices, guidance, tools and metrics.
• Facilitate process hazard analysis and risk assessments.

What you’ll bring

• Degree or B Tech degree in Chemical Engineering, Science or Engineering
• A minimum of three years post-graduate work experience in a mining/heavy industrial environment.
• Sound understanding of process and background of Mechanical/Process/ Metallurgical Engineering
• 5 Years associated experience in heavy industry or mining (mineral separation, equipment and processes).
• Thorough knowledge of Metallurgical equipment.
