Executive Director of Finance

SUMMARY:
The Executive Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the bank, ensuring financial stability, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This role involves managing the finance team, optimizing financial processes, and supporting the bank’s growth and profitability.

POSITION INFO:
Role's Purpose:
This role is critical in maintaining operational excellence, optimizing processes, and leading strategic initiatives to enhance the bank's operational capabilities. Experience & Qualification Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
• 10+ years in finance, with 5+ years in senior management.
• In-depth knowledge of financial management, regulations, and risk management.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Competencies:

• Financial Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies. Lead and manage the finance team.
• Financial Planning and Analysis: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations. Identify and mitigate financial risks.
• Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Cost Management: Monitor and control operational costs. Implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Investment Management: Manage the bank’s investment portfolio. Evaluate investment opportunities and strategies.
• Audit and Controls: Oversee internal and external audits. Ensure robust financial controls are in place.
• Team Development: Recruit, train, and evaluate finance staff. Foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position based in Tanzania.
• May require occasional travel to branch locations and regulatory meetings.
