High Voltage Design/Project Engineer

Our client, a national construction company, specialising in medium to large scale projects, seeks to employ a BSc or BEng Electrical Engineer, with a background in HV design, installation and maintenance projects, for their operation in Cape Town.

This role is geared toward candidates who have a BSc and BEng Power Systems or Electrical Engineering university degree, with a minimum of 3 years experience in critical infrastructure, renewable energy or data centre projects.

KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION:

• You will have completed a BSc or BEng degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, coupled with at least 3 years experience in HV design, installation and maintenance of critical infrastructure projects – Professional registration is highly advantageous
• You will have solid knowledge of utilising HV design software for HV System design and analysis, as well as being able to manage projects, lead multi-disciplinary teams with tight project deadlines.
• You will have a proven background in conducting simulations of new systems, for reliability and efficiency, as well for optimization purposes.
• A track record in overseeing the installation, testing and commissioning of HV equipment, ensuring compliance with both SA and International standards, as well as develop and implement maintenance and safety protocols.
• You will have experience in providing technical support and training to teams in-house, as well as assessing and approving risk assessments.
• Multiple stakeholder, supplier, team and contractor engagement expertise is essential
• You must be a detailed-orientated and organized team player with demonstrated delivery in high pressure situations.
• You must have a driver’s license, a clear criminal and credit record, and reliable transport.
