Job Description - x LV Estimators

ESTIMATING

Applies principles of estimating time required to manufacture the product.
Studies, evaluates and processes technical information received from client and produces a bill of material for manufacturing which includes all electrical equipment, mechanical enclosure and copper requirements, consumables and other material, any special product solutions, and any other resources required to product client order.
Studies, evaluates and processes technical and commercial information from the client to create a quotation or tender to offer to the client
Communicate with the client and consultants to ensure all client specifications are available and included in the design and costing, this includes schematics
Studies, evaluates and processes changes in product configuration, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on costs
Manage time to ensure quotations and tenders are submitted on time.
Submit Offer to Client as approved by management.
Attend kick-off meeting to hand over to operations department.
Follow the correct estimating procedure for document control.
Participate in weekly quotation analysis/selectivity meeting.
Ensure the most cost-effective offer to customers, with upfront pre-negotiated project discounts from suppliers.
Adhere to excellent customer service promptly and ensure that customer calls/e-mails are attended to timeously.
Ensure follow-up on quotations submitted and regular update the quote control.

Skills Requirements – Education and Experience

Electrical Engineering diploma
Excellent understanding of low voltage engineering design and selection
Able to read, interpret and apply electrical schematic diagrams
5 years’ experience of low voltage engineering design and selection for engineering estimating costs and time for quotations and tenders
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
