Field Officer Internship

SUMMARY: An established manufacturer of agricultural chemicals is seeking dynamic graduates to complete a 12-month graduate development programme in a highly specialised Agricultural environment, where the aim is to advance graduates’ learning, exposure and expertise on agrochemical and nutritional matters and to develop sales capabilities and technical support to Crop Advisors and Growers. POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a relevant tertiary qualification, such as a B.Agric, B.Sc Agric or Btech degree
• Must be fully computer literate MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
• Good communication skills (verbal and written) will be required
• Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license and have own reliable transport
• Must be able and willing to travel to farms and various sites

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Receiving product training on herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, adjuvants, nutrition, and biologicals.
• Executing research Farm duties including, but not limited to product application, measuring and reporting.
• Assisting with product development through field trials and adhering to regulatory requirements.
• Understanding product formulation in the Research & Development Laboratory.
• Executing quality control duties within the QC Laboratory.
• Understanding the production of products.
• Gaining exposure to emerging farmer initiatives.
• Gaining exposure to various depots and the associated duties.
• Performing research and report-writing and assisting with technical support and sales duties as delegated by the responsible Technical Advisor and Regional Sales Manager.
