Job Description - Cargo Claims Surveyor

MBA are excited to be working with a best-in-class insurance company, assisting their search for a talented Cargo Claims Surveoy. The client is an industry heavyweight with a reputation for client centric claims management, technical innovation and leadership and due to continuing growth, this is a remote position with travel as an when required (car provided), the ideal candidate would be based in the north of the UK

Duties/Responsibilities
Surveying all claims related to the transit of goods, whether this be Land or Sea, Car or Train, Boat or Ship

Attendance at surveys throughout the UK – liaising with clients/other surveyors to arrange and attend surveys involving the movement of cargo by road. air, rail or sea (including warehousing).
Recording all information necessary to progress claim, and preserving all relevant evidence.
Report Writing and Communication with clients
Claims adjustment – collating evidence and establishing quantum
Field based Claims Handling and Adjustment – handling claims based upon papers alone, establishing liability and quantum, making recommendations to clients

About you

You will be an experienced claims handler or from a similar background (Logistics)
Ideally experience of handling cargo claims or similar
Knowledge of the insurance claims process and how your role will relate to this
Ability to negotiate with claimants using a variety of methods in line with Client requirements
Good IT skills with MS office
Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability multi task to a detailed level
