Job Description - Lead Environmental Consultant - Decommissioning (UK)

Description

Xodus continues to grow its decommissioning support offering to the energy industry and we have a need for a Lead Environmental Consultant to join our UK-based Environment Division. Working as a key member of our Environmental Impact Assessment team, you will manage and deliver a diverse portfolio of decommissioning projects.  There will also be the opportunity to support our work in the wider Environment team (such as renewables, cables, oil and gas development) and in other locations (Australia, USA) should the opportunity arise.

What you will do

Dependent on your specific experience, you will act as project manager across a range of operators, taking the key client contact role on a day-to-day basis, and leading consultants within the team to deliver these challenging projects on time and to budget. Additionally, you will be responsible for undertaking report writing and client liaison, helping to drive delivery with the support of other senior consultants.

This vacancy is open to applications from across the UK, it's a permanent full-time position.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Enthusiastic environmental professional with demonstrable, relevant professional experience
  • Knowledge of marine environment, ecology, policy and impact assessment
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Computer and system literate with strong project management skills
  • You will know how to engage and interface effectively with clients / regulators / stakeholders
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree level training in a relevant discipline e.g., environment, chemistry, engineering.
  • Eligible to work in the United Kingdom

Desirable Experience

  • Good understanding of the offshore legislation and involvement in reviewing and consulting on relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Willingness to attend external working groups / conferences
  • Willingness to travel offshore
