POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides clinical, counselling, education and retail services to paediatric (including infants) and adult patients presenting with hearing losses/disorders and to their significant others as appropriate. Works autonomously, but collaboratively with a broad range of other disciplines. The Audiologist also participates in prevention activities, research, training, education and organizational tasks associated with caseload management, and successful functionality of the Department of Audiology and Early Words are also included within this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in Audiology required
• Member in good standing with theCollege of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) required
• Clinical Doctorate of Audiology (AuD) preferred
• Minimum one year experience required
• Special training for VNG/ENG; rotational chair work may be required
• Authorized to prescribe and dispense hearing aids with the Assistive Devices Program
• Proficient computer skills
• Current training in hearing aid manufacturer’s software and programming of hearing aids/assistive listening devices
• Demonstrates knowledge and experience working with the various populations served
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Able to work under pressure, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
• Audiology hearing aid/assistive listening devices, dispensary training and skills may be required
