Job Description - Logistics Specialist

Biocatalysts is comprised of 4 companies, headquartered in Cardiff (Wales, UK) and co-located in Buttelborn (Germany), Nieuwkuijk (Netherlands) and Tampa (Florida, USA). Brought together as an integrated Bioproducts Division in October 2023, it is a wholly owned subsidiary of BRAIN Biotech Group, based in Zwingenberg (Germany). We serve customers globally in markets such as food, baking, beverage and pharma / life science, with a view to “ become and stay the world’s leading speciality enzyme company and by the quality and dedication of our people, exceed our customers’ expectations ”.

Focusing on transportation, warehousing, and ensuring smooth communication and workflow throughout the logistics network while ensuring that all sales orders are processed efficiently and despatched on time and delivering excellent customer service.

· Interact directly with customers to receive purchase orders

· Input customer orders into Sage 200 system for processing

· Provide customers with order acknowledgments, including despatch and delivery dates.

· Co-ordinate with internal stakeholders including but not limited to Production and Quality Control to ensure timely despatch and delivery

· Manage the preparation of shipping documents and send them to customers once orders are despatched

· Define and apply for specific permits and certificates required for products, eg: Vet Cert

· Obtain quotes, book transportation and liaise with freight forwarders to arrange timely collection of goods from our warehouse

· Raise purchase orders for freight costs and interact with freight forwarders regarding billing.

· Carry out Pre-despatch checks, scan physical products, despatch inspection and sign-off, print the necessary shipping documents for despatch preparation.

· Follow up on deliveries to ensure they reach the customer's destination

· All administration tasks including invoicing and regulatory documentation in collaboration with Regulatory Affairs Manager

· Handle incoming customer enquiries by telephone and e-mail

· Carry out the responsibilities stated in the Managing Director’s Health & Safety Policy detailed in paragraphs 9 and 10 of his Management Directive

· Be conversant with and adopt the procedures stated in the Environmental Management System (EMS) Manual and its supporting documents
