Autism Plus are a leading Yorkshire Charity supporting adults and young people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and complex needs. In 1986 the Charity was created by a group of parents looking for the very best support for their children who were about to leave a specialist school. Once they reached the age of 17, they found there was little or no support. The belief set by our founding parents, to empower more people to live independent, fulfilling lives remains our focus today. We employ over 350 people across the north of England in care support services, employment support and social enterprise businesses. About the Role:
Hours: 7 hours per week - Additional hours for covering annual leave/absence
Location: Garforth We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our Garforth team as a Retail Assistant. By contributing to the day-to-day operations of our charity shop, you will directly help raise funds to support our vital work. As a Retail Assistant, your overall purpose will be to assist in the smooth running of our charity shop, ensuring its success in generating funds for Autism Plus. Key Duties (Include, but are not limited too): - To serve customers promptly in a welcoming and friendly manner
- To train others with assistance from the Shop Manager/Shop assistant
- To size, steam and price clothes and other assorted goods
- To use the shop till as per the agreed procedure and keep shop area tidy
- Change static displays and window displays as per policy
- Bag up un-saleable clothing
- Observe good working practices and maintain a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere for both customers and staff
- Adhere to all Autism Plus policies and procedures
- To carry out any other duties delegated by the Shop Assistant/Shop Manager The application process is simple and involves a short application form with a CV upload.
