About the Role:

  • Responsible for quality control in all phases of production utilizing established procedures, quality control manuals, and equipment
  • Read and understand shop fabrication drawings and specs and verify dimensions of product or material
  • Perform internal audits and maintain quality control inspection records
  • Act as liaison to outside inspectors
  • Resolve quality issues due to production and fabrication errors
  • Inspect finished good loads prior to plant departure
  • Coach and train the team in quality requirements
  • Create an attitude of Quality, Safety, and contribute to the safe operation of the department and plants.
  • Ensure sample integrity and properly collect, identify, prepare, and homogenize and store all samples and help lab techs as needed.
  • Collect, record, store, analyze and pass the information concerning quality control results to Lab manager for review.
  • Communicate all appropriate results, information and problems to the appropriate supervisors, foremen and plant QC associates.
  • Monitor the quality of the quarried materials through the appropriate testing and help lab techs with all the testing needed.
  • Control the quality of the aggregate and concrete production by performing the appropriate tests and making any necessary changes to maintain the posted targets.
  • Perform testing that will enhance the production rate or quality of all plant operations as need bases.
  • Insure all production meets the specifications of the companies need, the plant and the customer by performing appropriate testing
  • Perform tests to resolve customer complaints and meet customer needs.
  • Assist in the development of new products, testing and research.
  • Monitor all laboratory equipment for proper operation and report any deviations to his supervisor.

  • Monitor all laboratory testing and test procedures for proper operation and report any deviations to his supervisor and keep in CCRL and QC files.
  • Keep his/her ACI certification, QC training up to date.
  • Keep the department and associated equipment clean, calibrated on regular basis.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years manufacturing experience. Prior QC experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specifications.
  • Ability to interpret readings from Micrometers, Calipers, and other QC tools.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
