Location: West Sacramento, California

Salary: $76,300-$102,500 per year/DOE

Position Overview: This position is responsible for supervising the Finished Goods Inventory Coordinators and provides administrative and technical support to management. The Finished Goods Inventory Manager focuses on all aspects of customer satisfaction and foster positive relationships with our clients. Coordinates the day-to-day shipping activities relating to the scheduling of trucks, receiving, and releasing orders and inventory management.

Language Skills: English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes.

Amount of Travel Involved: 25%.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.
  • Establish balanced workflows that maximize efficiency and produce high levels of service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Interact with customers on a daily basis, responding to their questions and guiding them to the appropriate service.
  • Manage Finished Goods Inventory Coordinators day to day activities.
  • Review the work of staff and counsel in the use of standard services, procedures, and customer account expectations.
  • Professionally train and evaluate employee performance, recommend promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions.
  • Respond to and resolve the most difficult customer account complaints and problems in accordance with company policy and procedure.
  • Coordinate and supervise the investigation of complaints regarding services and subsequent explanation of practices.
  • Manage inventory accuracies, meet customer goals, and comply with company policy.
  • Create KPI’s and reports results quarterly and initiate change management to achieve goals.
  • Coordinate and manage the investigation of complaints regarding services and subsequent explanation of practices.
  • Research information and analyze accounts to reconcile errors, modify account transactions and update procedures as needed.
  • Review on-hand Finished Goods inventory, analysis of non-moving/obsolete items, work with customers for possible disposition.
  • Participate in all audits and physical inventories for all customers and in all locations.
  • Explain inventory adjustments to each customer after month end reports are distributed.
  • Maintain a 96% inventory accuracy and implement processes for improvement.
  • Review inaccuracies with Finished Goods Inventory Coordinators daily and develop plan for posting differences in WMS system.
  • Reconcile Finished Goods differences from Production in both systems.
  • Perform full audits for items customers disagree on adjustment reports.
  • Review with Customers product shortages on loads and resolve lot discrepancy issues.
  • Manage/schedule customer annual physical audit and coordinate with Production Planning.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist Production, Finance, IC and QA as needed for system training in WMS.
  • Collect damages data and compare from previous years and implement new processes to reduce waste.
  • Provide support for troubling shooting WMS systems SAP/ILS.
  • Evaluate system skill levels for employees and request logins and access rights.
  • Review special projects for customers with multiple distribution centers and determine time efficient transactions for traceability.
  • Create and provide Finished Goods Inventory reports as requested.
  • Enter Stock Transfer Orders from other Co-packers in SAP.
  • Assist other Coke plants with researching shortages, damages and missing product.
  • Attend meetings with Customers to evaluate end customer issues, public complaints and propose opportunities for improvement.
  • Negotiate physical inventories with customers and create spreadsheets to meet their specifications/requirements.
  • Manage inventory warehouses to include bin numbers, storage locations, and develop best practices for movements between warehouses.
  • Lead the communication of information, processes and accountabilities pertaining to Finished Goods inventory.
  • Receive after-hours phone calls regarding customer issues.
  • General
    • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • To perform this job successfully, must be able to perform each fundamental task listed above satisfactorily.

Experience for Success:

  • Strong Excel reporting skill (pivot tables, analysis, macros, etc.).
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations.
  • Principle and practices of inventory and effective leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP and familiar with ERP systems
  • Exercise tact, judgement, and patience in dealing with customers, subordinates, and other related departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with customers and co-workers.
  • Have a strong work ethic and be able to work independently as well as work in a team.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, a professional attitude, and produces accurate work product.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) required.
  • 8 years’ experience in inventory and customer service and at least 5 years’ experience in supervising is required.
  • Or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • APICS, CPIM, or other Materials Management certs preferred.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in math.
  • Experience with inventory management systems as well as proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position is expected to work in an office environment where the noise level is usually quiet. However, the noise level in the work environment in the warehouse can often be loud and disruptive due to the nature of working with warehouse lift trucks.
