A client of ours at Robert Half is seeking a visionary CTO who can bridge the gap between technology and business, driving innovation that not only aligns with their strategic goals but also resonates with their customers. This is a very small company (around 10 employees, 5 being on the R& D side) and they are looking for someone who will participate in recruitment/hiring processes, is involved in project execution & strategy implementing/overseeing processes, workflows, annual development plans, etc. You will work closely with other departments and manage the R& D budget. The culture is great, everyone steps in and helps where it is needed. The company is very financially and KPI focused, but the people are what make this a great place to work!

There will be significant salary increases in year 2, and the company offers a performance based bonus that is expected to start at around $25k.
About the role: Will be hands on - at least for a while until they get caught up with their technical debt. The president is not very technical and this person will need to be able to communicate well with her in non-technical terms. This includes directly engaging in the code and R& D processes to provide vision and mentorship to all team members. Will participate in recruitment/hiring processes. Involved in project execution & strategy implementing/overseeing processes, workflows, annual development plans, etc. Will work closely with other departments and manage the R& D budget. This organization is an email service/digital marketing provider so if you have a background in this that would be a huge bonus!
Must haves:
• 10+ years in application development (ColdFusion - must, Python, Java)
• 5+ years in AWS Cloud hosting (currently migrating everything to AWS about 40%)
• 3+ years in email delivery
• 5+ years in managerial roles
• Proficiency in MySQL, Agile, SDLC, git code management
• Experience setting and managing KPI's, SLA's and metrics for consumer facing websites
• Bridge the gap between tech and the business
Nice to haves:
• Lucee experience
• ESP experience (email service provider) - Highly preferred
• Knowledge in Microservices
• Docker Containers
• Alternate databases: Aurora, Postgres, Redshift, Elastic Search, Redis)
• CI/CD Pipelines, CDK, Linux
• Change management skills
