JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering Intern evaluates manufacturing processes; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Update/Standardize bill of materials (BOMS)
- Develop visual aids and work instructions for engineering and other functions, as assigned.
- Assist quality by measuring manufactured parts, comparing accuracy to part drawings, and developing quality plans/procedures.
- Assist in design/drawing creation for engineered products and system using 3D modeling software.
- Assist with creation of a Value Stream Mapping (VSM) current vs. optimal.
- Assist in product performance testing and analysis of failed products.
- Adhering to all assembly safety standards.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors of Science in Engineering enrollment in good standing at an accredited University; required.
- Advanced Excel skills, especially with formulas, data manipulation; required.
- Working knowledge of a 3D modeling software package; SolidWorks preferred.
- Familiarity in six sigma and lead methodologies, preferred.
- Previous experience using calipers, micrometers, cmm, etc..; preferred.
- Strong, organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills required.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of MRP tools for planning/scheduling, preferred.
