The company is currently seeking to complement their team by adding an experienced Warehouse Shipping Clerk.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Warehouse Shipping Clerk is responsible for providing proactive, solution-driven service to the company's customers, vendors, sales teams, and suppliers. Daily requirements for shipping department personnel that are to be completed thoroughly and on time include:
- Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments
- Assemble and prepare orders for both domestic and international shipments
- Confirm that all necessary shipping/receiving documentation are filled out accurately and completely to meet all transportation requirements
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and approve returns, correspond with the shipper to rectify damages and shortages
- Maintain communication with both shipping and service providers consistently
- Interface with both Customer Service and Bookkeeping departments
- Order necessary shipping supplies
- Suggest areas of costs savings and process improvements related to transportation and supplies
- Interface with bookkeeping/accounting regarding adjustments
- Adjust/update PO's once goods arrive
- Assist with receiving + shipping CFA's
- Post tracking information on company invoices, forward to client + representative
- Pick up + delivery from local finisher
- Interface with Fed Ex + UPS shipping manager as needed
- Work with bookkeeping in correcting inventory issues
- Review/process/facilitate international shipping documents
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Minimum 1-year experience working in a warehouse environment
- High School diploma. GED or Vocational diploma
- Comprehension and knowledge of textile and vinyl inspections a plus. Background in shipping and receiving
- Experience with Measure graph inspection table a plus
- Understanding of QuickBooks software
- Basic knowledge of warehouse logistics
- Ability to audit freight bills for accuracy
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, and kneel
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of successfully perform the job requirements
