Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Bring Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis economic education and personal finance programs – workshops, conferences, etc. – to K-12 educators. We are looking for an Economic Education Specialist. Reporting to the manager of our Economic Education team, you'll plan and coordinate educational outreach, use technology to provide programming, and be responsible for writing and disseminating economic and financial education materials and training teachers about economics, personal finance, and Federal Reserve fundamentals through a variety of channels (e.g., video, audio, social media, Canvas).
Responsibilities
- Write essays, articles, and curriculum materials for use by K–12 educators.
- Organize and present in-person and online professional development programs for educators.
- Present at conferences and other professional development opportunities within the 8th Federal Reserve District and nationally.
- Represent the Bank at exhibits at education conferences within the 8th Federal Reserve District and nationally.
- Provide leadership by seeking innovative ways to increase the visibility of St. Louis Fed programs and classroom resources.
- Represent the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and develop partnerships with departments of education, school districts, colleges and universities and local/state educational organizations.
- Be an active participant in Federal Reserve System education efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in economics, economic education or a related field or commensurate experience; Master's degree in economic education or economics preferred.
- 7 years of experience teaching economics at secondary or college-level
- Experience and competence with current educational technology (i.e., video creation and editing, Microsoft Teams, Canvas, Zoom, Google Classroom etc.)
- Experience and competence using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in writing economics curriculum preferred
- Highly effective verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to work well on teams
- Candidates with less experience may be considered at a lower job grade or salary
- Travel (10% - 20%)
