CSU Recreational Therapist

Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for over 40 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center partners with Neighborhood Health Association to provide primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.

We are currently seeking a full-time CSU Recreational Therapist to plan and implementing services that support health, wellness, and recovery through the enhancement of the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of self.

Essential Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

• Identifies client needs through individual assessment and treatment planning.
• Implements group and individual interventions utilizing recreational modalities to support client self-determination, emotion regulation, socialization, and a healthy leisure lifestyle promoting clinical goal achievement.
• Incorporates client’s interests in treatment planning and client’s family/caregiver (as appropriate).
• Modifies interventions in response to changes in patient status and to support discharge plans.
• Collaborates with clients and treatment team to optimize interventions and scheduling.
• Provides effective education to clients and family/caregivers throughout the therapeutic relationship.
• Supports safe, effective, and respectful care by completing thorough and timely documentation.
• Advocates for client needs.
• Supervision of clinical/internship RT students as assigned.

• A Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in therapeutic recreation/recreational therapy.
• Applicants must be certified in Recreation Therapy; Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
