Lead Center Director - Immediate Start

The Lead Center Director ensures effective and efficient management of the child care center, contributing to the accomplishment of both programming and operations related objectives. Following Encompass, Department of Children and Families (DCF), and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) guidelines, they plan and implement onboarding, as well as ongoing supervision, training and professional development of teaching staff. This individual ensures HighScope curriculum, COR Advantage Assessment program, and Conscious Discipline strategies are embedded in teaching practices. They also oversee financial aspects of center budget, including family accounts. Lead Center Directors model and maintain expected levels of customer service to families, children, staff and community.

What does the Lead Center Director do?

• Demonstrate strong, dynamic leadership that results in development and mentorship of team members, utilizing agency resources effectively and efficiently
• Assume responsibility for the operations function of the center including, but not limited to, enrollments, managing family accounts, processing staff payroll, and monitoring the budget
• Assume responsibility for ensuring expectations regarding High Scope curriculum, COR Advantage and Conscious Discipline are met through observations, check-ins, training, and providing ongoing feedback
• Coach and supervisor Associate Center Director and center teachers
• Ensure compliance with Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing regulations and NAEYC standards
• Collaborate with staff and community partners to ensure appropriate level of customer service is provided to children, families and staff
• Perform the duties and responsibilities of a classroom teacher as needed
• Support the Encompass mission, demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality in all encounters

Our ideal candidate has:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field is preferred
• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education required
• 1-2 years of leadership experience required
• Strong knowledge of HighScope, Conscious Discipline, & DCF Regulations
• Analytical and organizational

• Experience with NAEYC accreditation process
