Kanner & Pintaluga, a dynamic and rapidly growing personal injury and property damage law firm, seeks a highly motivated and passionate Trial Paralegal to join our busy team in Boca Raton, FL. Position Summary:
Paralegals work directly with our attorneys to assist them with ongoing cases and prepare them for trial if needed. In addition, they conduct fact-finding projects and are responsible for maintaining all case files. Our caseload is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is organized, professional, responsible, and committed to helping us meet our clients’ needs. • Maintain attorney’s calendar.
• Schedule depositions, pre-depositions, meetings, meditations, hearings.
• Document management using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe and SmartAdvocate
• E-file legal documents in Florida’s E-Portal System.
• Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
• Draft legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery demands/responses and subpoenas.
• Send out correspondence to parties/non-parties via email, regular mail, or certified mail.
• Communicate with clients.
• Set up Court Call or Zoom for hearings.
• Prepare Trial Notebooks and Exhibit Lists.
• Retain Experts for Trial.
• Complete trial logistic tasks.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience/Requirements:

• Full-time, 8:00am to 5:00pm, M-F
• 2+ years of litigation experience required
• Experience with the discovery process
• Experience e-filing in both state and federal courts a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers effectively and efficiently
• Possess excellent organization skills and be able to multitask and prioritize workload
• Prepare Trial Notebooks and Exhibit Lists
• Have an ability to be cross-trained
• Experience with reviewing medical records/ bills and coordinating appearances at trial preferred but not required
• Team-oriented
