Description:

Summary

Radial Power is seeking a motivated and experienced Director, Business Development, to join our team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director, Business Development will play a pivotal role in driving business development initiatives, expanding market reach, and fostering strategic partnerships. With a strong focus on the C&I solar sector, this position offers the opportunity to lead a talented sales team and make a significant impact on the company's growth trajectory. This role will require national travel up to 50%.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Strategy & New Opportunities: Develop and implement a comprehensive national sales strategy, including go-to-market plans and monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals, to drive new business development in the solar C&I sector focused on front of the meter community solar programs and high credit quality behind the meter onsite PPAs. Identify and capitalize on new opportunities, customers, and partnerships to expand Radial Power's product and market offerings.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including originators, installers, developers, and marketers, to facilitate sales, installations, and activations of solar and storage solutions.
  • Reporting: Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer insights to inform strategic decision-making and optimize sales efforts. Generate and maintain accurate sales reports and activity records, utilizing Salesforce and other tools to track accounts, opportunities, and progress towards goals.
  • Support: Support local operations teams as needed, ensuring adherence to project schedules and delivery of exceptional customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, or business administration

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales and/or account management experience, with a proven track record of success in driving revenue growth.
  • 3-5 years of senior management experience, including leadership and development of teams.
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in C&I solar and storage sales and installations, with a deep understanding of Purchase Power Agreements, roof leases, and behind the meter/front of the meter solutions.

Other Skills

  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of electrical systems and solar sales processes, effectively communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ambitious, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving innovation and achieving results.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Salesforce, and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and initiative.
  • Experience selling to solar dealers and installers.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical systems and renewable energy technologies.
  • Familiarity with program management and marketing principles.

Physical Requirements

The Director, Business Development may be required to endure the following physical activities, environmental conditions, and physical demands:

  • remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods,
  • moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another,
  • adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions,
  • repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, and
  • assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
