Job Description: Mechanic

BPR a Holland Pump Company offers rentals, sales and service for the portable pumping and vacuum loader industry. Some industries include: municipal, industrial, petrochem, construction, marine and mining. Our fleet is built around the Gorman Rupp pump and Industrial Vacuum line.

Key duties include, but are not limited to:

•Rebuild pump ends and light diesel engine repair

•Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing asdirected on fleet equipment between each rental

•Perform on-site repairs or service at customer’s location

•Perform an initial inspection of fleet equipment for possible damages, diagnosedamages, report damages to Operations Manager

•Create an accurate and legible parts and repair list for assigned fleet equipment

•Review list of parts with Operations Manager and obtain approval to continuewith servicing and repair

•Repair damaged equipment. Test all repaired equipment for proper operationand quality

•Perform preventative maintenance on company vehicles and shop equipmentas directed

•Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems and pump problems

•Perform diagnostic checks as necessary

•Assist with system set up on customer job sites as needed

•Deliver equipment as needed

•Respond to afterhours customer service calls on a rotation basis

•Perform related duties as assigned

Required Experience: Minimum Qualifications or specialized training

•3-5 years of experience or education that demonstrates the ability to performthe duties of the position

•Possession of basic hand tools

•Preferred equipment rental experience

•Personal Driver License with clean driving record

•Must be able to pass a criminal background check and hair follicle drug screen

Desired Skills: Knowledge

•Methods, materials, tools and techniques used in equipment repair andmaintenance

•Diagnosing basic mechanical problems

•General DC electric and circuit testing skills

•General diesel engine component location and identification

•Safety practices and procedures

Abilities and Skills

•Basic mechanical aptitude

•Ability to communicate with supervisor and take direction

•Legible handwriting

•Ability to safely operate forklifts

•Ability to communicate clearly on hand held devices

•Use of basic hand and power tools

•Use of diagnostic equipment

Physical Efforts

•Prolonged standing on concrete floors, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying up to 50 pounds, bending and stopping

Working Conditions

•Mix of inside shop work and outside work with exposure to all weatherconditions

•Manufacturing environment. May be exposed to loud noises, changingtemperatures, machinery with moving parts and various materials

•Extended hours as needed (weekends, overtime, pump watch and on-callrotations)
