Job Description - Associate Project Manager

Purpose

As an Associate Project Manager, you will collaborate with internal and external clients to create project plans, manage project deliverables, manage client expectations, create and manage project documentation, and report project status. Key focus will be on providing a high-quality implementation and being accountable for the successful management of all aspects of client engagements. The Associate Project Manager regularly exercises discretion and judgment related to matters of significance while performing the duties and responsibilities of the job.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the planning, organization, and management of assigned standard scope projects with full accountability for meeting all project deadlines.
  • Proactively sets and manages expectations with internal and external stakeholders regarding project scope, deliverables, milestones and issues and risks.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of effective communication to project teams, external project stakeholders, and internal and external leadership.
  • Understands and completes all Clinisys established project management processes and methodology to drive projects to be on time, on budget, and with a high degree of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to ensure quality deliverables are met and client handoffs are seamless.
  • Analyzes internal processes and fosters and environment of continual process improvement.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows, MS Office and standard office equipment.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with an ability to understand and solve problems, identify improvement opportunities, and create effective action plans during the performance of assigned tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work concurrently on multiple projects in a matrix setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize one’s own workload and work independently and autonomously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a project team (1-3 players), in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output.
  • Proactively learns from the work of others.
  • Demonstrates a systematic approach to carrying out assignments.
  • Asks questions and actively manages their own learning to work better with the team.
  • Takes responsibility for the quality of their work with increasing independence.
  • Willingness to learn and apply the principles of PMBOK to assignments.

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of experience in project management, software implementations and support, or experience with direct client engagements
  • 2 years of experience partnering with key client project stakeholders

Preferred Experience & Education

  • Previous experience in hospital or environmental laboratories
  • LIMS implementation experience
  • Project management experience

  • None
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in a normal or remote office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.
  • Moderate lifting/carrying 15-44 lbs.; use of fingers; walking/standing 2-6 hours; (if applicable use this)
  • Travel to client sites that can pose risk.
  • May be required to follow customer location health and safety requirements.

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $84,400 to $114,400 for an annual base salary. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.
