• Prepare production parts for tinning and spinning by cycling them through the cleaning process per the standard work instruction(s).
• Accountable for monitoring process parameters used in the Spin Room.
• Maintain Set-Up Book to record information concerning RPM's, water spray pattern, quenching time and any other pertinent data.
• Responsible for safely spinning correct amount of Babbitt into each part.  Integrity is important to maintain quality at acceptable levels while producing at or above the production standards established in the shop work order packet.
• Record Babbitt usage properly on ShopVue labor entry screen.
• Perform monthly Babbitt and tin inventory.
• Perform weekly checks of cleaning solution, acid and flux
• Daily maintenance of spin room equipment such as oiling and greasing.
• Perform activities on manual machines such as horizontal and vertical band saws.
• Use forklift to move parts in and out of spin room.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Take a proactive approach to continuous improvement including productivity, quality, safety, environmental and ergonomics in order to achieve KPI’s
• Follow preventative maintenance procedures on equipment as prescribed by maintenance and ME groups and immediately reporting equipment failures and inconsistencies.
• Accurately complete all necessary documentation.

• Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company’s goals.
• Lifting guidelines in accordance with the Manual Lifting Guidelines noted in the Safety Handbook.
• Follow all environmental requirements consistently with supporting the company’s environmental performance goals.
• Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements

• Must be able to read and understand English at a high school level
• Light foundry environment preferred
• Must be dependable.
• Must be reliable to handle equipment safely with a minimum amount of supervision.
• Unique PPE requirements for Spin room will be reviewed and must be adhered to.

• hot working conditions – foundry environment – workspace is not temperature controlled – very warm in summer and comfortable in the winter
• Must be able to maneuver in all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant
• Capable of 35 pounds free hand) and with use of mechanical aids manipulate parts or machines exceeding 20,000 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
• Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate equipment
• Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be able to respond to visual and auditory cues.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and approved PPE is required when on the factory floor
