Construction Worker

Our growing company is looking for a hard-working and skilled construction worker. Under our construction manager’s direction, you will work alongside a team of other skilled laborers and tradesmen, and apply your knowledge of construction methods, tools, and equipment to keep the project on track. You must have previous job-site experience, Basic knowledge in construction is required and must be able to use common hand tools and run small equipment; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; and perform heavy lifting, moving, digging or other manual work typical of the class. have a great work ethic and physical stamina. • Carry, load, and unload tools and building materials such as sheetrock, saws, lumber, tile, grout, etc.
• Tear down old structures, and build temporary structures such as signs, cones, barricades, ramps, and other devices to control traffic around the construction site
• Run hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as survey equipment, jackhammers, and forklifts as required
• Properly dispose of debris and hazardous materials to keep the job site safe and clean and meet safety regulations and OSHA requirements
• Comply with all instructions given by the construction manager, and work with other team members to complete construction projects accurately
• Support craft workers (painters, electricians, carpenters, roofers, plasterers), sub-contractors, and other tradesmen as needed

Qualifications:

• Equivalent, GED, or high school diploma is required - Associate’s degree, trade certification, and/or completed apprenticeship program is highly preferred
• Past construction experience, knowledge of construction methods, tools, and equipment and the ability to understand blueprints and construction plans are required
• This position relies on physical strength and stamina
• Able to work in inclement weather like extreme temperatures, rain, etc.
• Strong depth perception, good eye-hand coordination, and mechanical skills are helpful
