Job Description - Cost Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Supervision of the monthly closing and preparation of an executive summary to be submitted to the Project Manager and Executive Team.
  • Preparation of the forecast for the next 6 and 12 month billing cycle, including revenue, cost, and cash-flow projections.
  • Preparation and analysis of the following reports to ensure they accurately reflect the current project status: monthly cost report, weekly reports, LDR, payroll, labor report, summary report, and weekly quantities.
  • Preparation of weekly cost trend charts.
  • Preparation of subcontractor payment requisitions and monthly reporting to project owner.
  • Preparation of payment report to be submitted to the owner at the end of each month.
  • Review of MWDBE and SBE payments and owner reporting requirements.
  • Supervision of subcontractors and service agreements, purchase orders and change orders, contract modifications, and estimation of billing-payments and cost impact to the project.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a financial background or education
  • 2-3 years' experience in cost control/engineering in highway, bridge, rail, and tunnel construction.
