We are seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Director with strong leadership skills to support a local college in Paul Smiths NY.
This is an onsite role and relocation assistance is available.
Job Summary:
The Director of Facilities Operations is responsible for directing facilities maintenance operations of building(s) and property at a single unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead management of capital projects.
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships.
- Research and implement new processes and technology.
- Govern a safe and efficient working environment.
- Conduct client meetings on unresolved facility issues and communicate results.
- Manage interviewing and hiring timely and coach staff and service providers to deliver excellent service levels within budget.
- Oversee multiple functions of building operations and maintenance for the facility with knowledge of mechanical HVAC structural architectural landscape and energy management and sustainability snow removal event coordination custodial electrical environmental and safety and financials.
- May supervise construction work and often manages other core company services and/or logistics of business/operations services e.g. grounds keeping laundry food security inventory mail concierge services.
Requirements
Education:
- BS degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Required:
- 5 years experience as a Director in a campus setting.
- Clear driving record and a valid drivers license.
- Experience managing external vendors and subcontractors.
- Substantial financial acumen and budget management experience.
- Profound leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building.
- Exceptional customer service relationship building and communication skills.
- A proven track record of successful Facilities Management leadership experience demonstrated by articulated results.
- Strong technical knowledge of and hands on experience with mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC grounds and custodial.
- Experience managing multiple departments at a campus including grounds environmental services construction and project management and maintenance.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $115000 to $125000. This range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location work experience education and/or skill level. Employees may be eligible to participate in company employee benefit programs such as health insurance savings plan pension plan disability plan vacation pay sick time holiday pay and work personal and family time off in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
