Groundskeeper/Maintenance Technician

As Groundskeeper/Maintenance Technician, you play a key role in making the first impression of our hotel a safe and beautiful one by maintaining our parking lot and landscaping. You will also perform general repairs in and around the hotel as needed to ensure the hotel remains in exceptional physical condition for our guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.
• Operates equipment for basic dirt work and snow removal, such as bobcats, plow trucks, power booms, etc.
• Assists with maintenance and construction work, including, but not limited to, parking lot repairs, cold patching/asphalt repairs, and minor electrical work.
• Completes general preventative maintenance work on various equipment used; assists with other indoor maintenance work to support the entire maintenance team.
• Assists other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
• Assists with cleaning internal areas of buildings, including sweeping and mopping.
• Maintains cleanliness of public areas, storage areas, and parking lot.
• May assist with pool and spa maintenance including testing and recording as stated by State and City regulations.
• Keeps accurate records of key controls.
• Ensures good relationships with internal and external customers and contractors.
• Responds to guest requests and complaints timely, efficiently, appropriately and in a friendly manner; escalates complaints to management when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools as well as light and heavy-duty machinery helpful.
• Ability to operate equipment for basic dirt work and snow removal, such as bobcats, plow trucks, power booms, etc.
• General knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc. preferred. An ability to advance knowledge in these areas is essential.
• Ability to utilize quick thinking and apply quick resolution to hotel maintenance issues in accordance to the brand standards.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.
• Previous groundskeeping/landscaping experience preferred; facilities maintenance, plant operations or engineering services experienced also preferred.
