Maintenance Laborer

Work Hours:

• Monday – Friday (40 hours/week).
• 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
• Overtime required to meet business demands.

Responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance to machinery, heavy equipment, and all associated support equipment, at our Brownsville Location. 

Essential Job Functions:

• Knowledgeable in basic hand tools and proper use.
• Knowledgeable of the proper inspection, removal, installation, and alignment, and lubrication of bearings, gears, belts, and chains.
• Must be willing and able to work with heavy equipment when needed.
• Able to troubleshoot and repair the following: hydraulic systems, various cylinders, valves, and pumps.
• Perform assignments in a timely manner.
• Work autonomously or act as an effective team member, exhibiting good interpersonal skills.
• Able to communicate effectively to team members as well as non-maintenance personnel.
• Learn and work in accordance with company procedures and policies, as well as safety and environmental rules and guidelines.
• Must be comfortable working at heights.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-3 years maintenance experience, preferred.
• Good mechanical aptitude and math skills.
• Able to troubleshoot and repair the following: hydraulic systems, various cylinders, valves, accumulators, and pumps.
• Strong analytical skills and theoretical background in mechanical systems.
• Industrial mill, crushing, or mining, experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent written, organization, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Some computer skills are required.
• Ability to weld preferred.
