Job Description - Master Scheduler - Fabrication Plant

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, program management, planning, logistics, and production departments.
  • Leads additional planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and planning staff.
  • Build weekly Master Production Schedule for all Finished Goods.  MPS should support specific machines or work centers.  Communicate MPS to Plant Management and Production teams.
  • Develop complete understanding of production capacities and capabilities – machine rates, historic OEE, and availability of manpower.  MPS calculations should support these factors
  • Plan and organize resource schedule loading and leveling
  • Ensure preemptive communication to Customers for any/all issues that may impact On-Time Delivery.
  • Responsible to communicate, track and implement engineering changes in SAP as proposed by program management. 
  • Set up BOMs in SAP
  • Macro level support to all key performance measures of materials department that include inventory accuracy
  • Tracks all inventory related inaccuracies for root cause identification.  Responsible for ensuring the issue(s) are corrected.
  • Actively participates in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process in order to develop root cause analysis for problem resolution as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and above average attention to detail.
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing, inventory, production, procurement, quality and engineering flows
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extremely proficient with production planning systems

Education and Work Requirements:

  • Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) preferred.
  • Previous experience is desired, preferably in an automotive background.
