Position Summary: The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center seeks a Research Analyst. This is a public service faculty position reporting to the Associate Director. This position determines research objectives, develops research methods, conducts primary and secondary research, prepares research reports, and presents findings to external and internal audiences. The Research Analyst also responds to requests for research and seeks external funding to support select research projects. Statewide travel is required. Salary range begins at $66,000 and includes an excellent benefits package including a defined benefits retirement plan. Additional Requirements: To be considered at the level of Public Service Assistant, Public Service Associate or Senior Public Service Associate, candidates must have a Master’s degree in in Business Administration, Statistics, Political Science, Public Administration or related field of study as well as at least 2 years of experience in an applied or client-based research position. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification: Minimum 2 years of experience in an applied or client-based research position and two years’ experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and working with small businesses and/or economic development entities. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies: Excellent data analysis, presentation, and report writing skills. Should be competent using a statistical software, e.g. STATA, SPSS, SAS, R or excel for quantitative analysis. Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, Power BI or Tableau preferred.
