Tenure Status: Non-Tenure Track Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in in Business Administration, Statistics, Political Science, Public Administration or related field of study. Position Summary: The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center seeks a Research Analyst. This is a public service faculty position reporting to the Associate Director. This position determines research objectives, develops research methods, conducts primary and secondary research, prepares research reports, and presents findings to external and internal audiences. The Research Analyst also responds to requests for research and seeks external funding to support select research projects. Statewide travel is required. Salary range begins at $66,000 and includes an excellent benefits package including a defined benefits retirement plan. Additional Requirements: To be considered at the level of Public Service Assistant, Public Service Associate or Senior Public Service Associate, candidates must have a Master’s degree in in Business Administration, Statistics, Political Science, Public Administration or related field of study as well as at least 2 years of experience in an applied or client-based research position. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification: Minimum 2 years of experience in an applied or client-based research position and two years’ experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and working with small businesses and/or economic development entities. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies: Excellent data analysis, presentation, and report writing skills. Should be competent using a statistical software, e.g. STATA, SPSS, SAS, R or excel for quantitative analysis. Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, Power BI or Tableau preferred. Duties/Responsibilities: Conducts research projects; develops data-gathering instruments and methods; performs complex data analysis, and derives conclusions and implications from the anal6ysis consistent with research proposal outline and time frame. Duties/Responsibilities: Analyzes internal UGA SBDC performance data, economic impact results and compare to the needs and goals within various areas of the state Duties/Responsibilities: Stays abreast of economic development trends, especially related to small business development and entrepreneurship. Duties/Responsibilities: Seeks outside funding for economic development, small business and entrepreneurship research projects, including grand and research proposal writing, and presentations. Duties/Responsibilities: Communicates the research results; prepare white papers and make presentatins to UGA SBDC management. Duties/Responsibilities: Assist in the continued development, implementation, and updating of the organizations’s strategic plan. Duties/Responsibilities: Perform all responsibilities efficiently and effectively within assigned division. Ensure that administrative policies are followed, that programs are innovative and responsive, and that top-quality services are delivered. Maintain positive, professional relations with other departments and institutions.
