Job Description - Sales Consultant

Sales Consultant - Residential Design Sector | New York, NY

Showroom-based opportunity | Monday-Friday Showroom

The Sales Consultant is responsible for converting the leads from the residential sector of the company into orders and sales. This is an ‘in-house’ sales role, conducted mainly by phone, email, and other IT support tools. It includes all activities part of the selling process, such as leads management, leads qualification, identification and articulation of prospects’ needs into flooring solutions; pricing and quoting to win (and be aligned with margins targets); proactively following the sales process and all activities needed to succeed including resilient relationships with all stakeholders involved; closing the sales and agreeing all the terms and conditions; ensuring the orders are invoiced and shipped in a timely manner; and other similar activities.

Key Impact Areas

  • Accountable for leads generation (mainly from A&D firms, but not limited to), qualification and conversion into sales.
  • Manages leads from various sources, from initial inquiry to follow through to conversion rate.
  • Manages and builds a high-quality relationship with the client to increase the generation of leads by referral.
  • Operates with a high degree of autonomy and makes sound decisions for the business.
  • Uses the Company’s systems and tools to track leads and conversions for management reporting.
  • Operates with a high degree of flexibility in working hours; attends social events, nights away from home, supports exhibition organization and deliveries.
  • Responsible for translating, predicting and shaping trends into product development.
  • Organizes and delivers CPDs to RIBA accredited architects, inviting representatives from architects’ practices to attend CPD events, either at their premises and/or company showrooms and/or any other premises.
  • Attends networking events.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in sales and customer service; ideally wood flooring market
  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and ability to use CRM systems effectively
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and presentational
  • Sales acumen to work with clients, vendors, and team members
  • Resourceful in problem-solving and finding solutions
  • Strong organizational skills, sales management skills, and high attention to detail
  • Personable, adaptable, and outgoing positive attitude
  • Self-motivated, hard-working and reliable
