Job Description - Shipping Clerk

Job Title:Shipping Clerk
Pay Rate: $18/hour
Location: Westfield, IndianaJob Duties:

Stage, load, and unload materials.
Provide excellent customer service.
Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments by examining contents and comparing them with manifests or packing lists.
Responsible for combining from multiple departments to prepare final information for outbound.
Notify the Manufacturing Manager of any problems, such as damages or shortages.
Observe and follow all safety standards and processes.
Propose process improvements; implement methods that improve efficiency/effectiveness and reduce costs.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and work independently.
Good math skills.
Good computer skills. Ability to work fluidly in multiple programs and websites.
Knowledge of quality principles.
Interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to anticipate problems, solve problems, and make decisions.
Ability to stand and walk continually.
Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds and push or pull 150 pounds; an ability to use hands to touch, handle, or feel.
Ability to see, including the use of color perception and peripheral vision; an ability to hear and speak clearly.
Ability to read reports, orders, and other documentation.
This position is frequently exposed to noise, cold or hot temperatures, dirt/dust, moving parts, fumes/odors, and heavy machinery and equipment.
