STEAKHOUSE SERVER

Located just east of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City is a Midwestern entertainment hub that offers something for everyone. Ameristar has one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, amazing dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel, on-site childcare and more. Ameristar also offers convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660 space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Ameristar is seeking a Food Server for our Great Plains Steakhouse. Great Plains Steakhouse is an upscale fine dining establishment, where guests enjoy the finest in steaks, seafood and top shelf cocktails. The successful candidate will s erve food and beverages to guests in a quick, efficient and courteous manner.

• Greet guests with a smile and pleasant disposition in a timely manner
• Must be familiar with menu, daily specials, and preparation of foods and prices
• Use suggestive selling (i.e., cocktails, appetizers, desserts, etc.)
• Take customer’s orders and accurately input the order into the computer
• Observe and anticipate guest’s needs, keeping table cleared between courses, and beverages filled throughout their meal
• Present check for payment when all guests’ needs have been met
• Practice good safety procedures
• Adhere to department and property policies and procedures
• This is a uniformed position, which requires that team members are in compliance with uniformed appearance standards while on duty

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Excellent ability to multitask
• Knowledge of up selling techniques

Required Education and Work Experience

• At least 6 months experience as a server in a dining establishment
