As a Prime Video technologist, you’ll have end-to-end ownership of the product, user experience, design, and technology required to deliver state-of-the-art experiences for our customers. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather, translate, and report customer insights which will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for Prime Video Product and Tech teams. You will support the production of key business reporting to our stakeholders, build scalable data solutions to complex problems and perform ad-hoc deep dives. In doing so, you will have the opportunity to work with the one of the largest and most complex data warehouses in the world and collaborate with multiple Product, Engineering and Science teams across the globe.

This position requires high judgment, excellent analytical abilities, a creative mind to invent solutions to improve our interaction with the customer; it also offers broad exposure to various business, product, and technical teams across Amazon. The position will be based in New York but you will be working with a global team of tech and business stakeholders in Seattle, London and Bengaluru.

Key job responsibilities
- Identify, develop and execute data analysis to uncover areas of business opportunity
- Learn and understand a broad range of data resources and know how, when and which data sources to use
- Deep dive into massive data sets, build data pipelines using SQL and dashboards using Tableau/ QuickSight
- Present insights and recommendations to key stakeholders in both verbal and written form
- Manage and execute an entire project from start to finish including problem solving, data gathering & manipulation, analysis and project management
- Convert business requests into technical requirements for data products.
- Collaborate with multiple tech and non-tech teams including Product, Program, Operations, Science, Engineering and other BIE teams.
- Leverage SQL, ETL, AWS Redshift, Quicksight and other available tools to uncover deep business insights, trends, and opportunities to innovate on behalf our customers.

A day in the life
Amazon BIEs are expected to own analyses and reporting solutions for the team. You will be helping the Video Supply Chain organization make key decisions in order to provide our customers with high-quality content. You will collect requirements from stakeholders, synthesize the requirements alongside data and software engineering through technical expertise and offer a number of solutions that can address business problems. You will build and deliver solutions which typically comes in the form of an analysis to enable partners to make data-driven decisions.

About the team
We are the Core Business Intelligence and Analytics Team within the Content Publishing Lifecycle organization of Prime Video. Our structure and scope is a hybrid model where we collaborate closely with Data Engineering and Data Science to build technical solutions to problems that affect our business partners. We seek to optimize the supply chain and help provide the highest standard of video streaming content to our customers. Our team’s vision is to be the trusted analytical powerhouse and spearhead unified data-driven solutions which makes Prime Video the preferred entertainment destination for customers worldwide.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

New York, NY, USA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- Experience with one or more analytics visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI)
- Experience with data querying or modeling with SQL
- Experience with building and maintain basic data artifacts (e.g. ETL, data models, queries)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of how to improve code quality and optimizes BI processes (e.g. speed, cost, reliability)
- Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $65,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
