Amazon Corporate Security’s (ACS) Prototype Security team is searching for a new team member who is able to support our secure destruction program locally (SJC area). Based at our SJC11 building and working from the office 5 days per week, this position will support the overall security posture for our key customer teams in the technology and product manufacturing space. The Destruction Associate provides tactical and administrative support for Amazon’s Prototype Security program, especially as it pertains to the confidentiality and secure destruction of physical hardware. This position is responsible for executing and ensuring the collection, secure storage, inventorying, auditing and destruction of prototype devices according to Amazon policies, standards, and procedures.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this job include significant amounts of coordination with Amazon employees, product development/distribution teams and lab partners to manage centralized collection locations and the preparing of prototype material for secure destruction. This position involves working closely with other teams involved in the management, retrieval, return, relocation and tracking of prototype devices and materials.
This is a physical role which requires extensive manual handling, standing, lifting, pulling and pushing boxes and moving pallets. The candidate for this role will need to be able to lift up to 60 pounds, stand/walk for several hours a day and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, all with or without reasonable accommodation. The candidate will perform job duties in the office or remote at vendor facilities when required. Domestic and international travel (5-20% of time) will also be required.

This position will report to the Amazon Corporate Security (Prototype Security) Destruction Regional Manager - AMER.
Key job responsibilities
• You will support the day-to-day operation and administration of secure logistics, especially as it pertains to the physical security of prototype devices that are pending destruction
• You will identify solutions to reduce the volume of tracked devices locally, via a streamlining of inventory management and storage processes, optimization of storage space and targeted collection events
• You will ensure all of Prototype Security’s assigned SJC campus storage locations are managed and equipped to a consistent and high standard, audited frequently and in alignment with agreed standards for inventory management, security and housekeeping
• You will coordinate secure shipping and receiving with multiple vendor teams, including ensuring correct labelling, handling, tracking, and secure packaging standards are being followed
• You will support efforts for prototype security awareness and training
• You will provide operational data metrics to the Destruction Regional Manager - AMER on a weekly basis, updating the destruction dashboard, project tracker and budget tracker accordingly
• You will occasionally work outside of usual business hours in order to meet operational needs. This includes overnight stays near, and driving to and from, destruction vendor facilities and remote company locations when necessary
• You will perform other related duties as required. In extraordinary circumstances, this may include responding to ad hoc inquiries and incidents outside of office hours
A day in the life
• You will collect, consolidate and perform the inventorying of prototype devices and materials in the SJC campus.
• You will respond to service requests raised from internal customers via our ticketing system.
• You will work in conjunction with the Destruction Regional Specialist and Retrievals Specialist in support of collections, moves and storage operations thoughout the SJC campus and also in other local (SJC area) Amazon facilities as directed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Aptitude for learning new tools and processes, creating procedures and implementing best practices
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Office tools
• Possession of full, clean driver’s license and ability to operate a 20’ box truck with lift gate (on-job training to be provided)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Interest in or exposure to secure logistics including TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association) or similar
• Experience in building pallets and conducting pallet loading and offloading operations
• Exposure to the consumer electronics industry or the manufacturing or distribution of physical hardware
• 2+ years of experience, particularly in the fields of supply chain security, inventory management or secure asset disposal

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $48,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $93,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
