General Purpose: In a few brief sentences summarize the primary duties and responsibilities.
The primary duties of the Instructor are to skillfully teach and develop the skills and abilities of program participants. Utilizing well researched and designed Curricula and training tools it is the Instructors responsibility to utilize customized motivational strategies and career methodologies/and techniques for participants seeking employment.
Essential Functions: Describe the intrinsic job duties that define the core responsibilities of the job.
· Teaches various employability skills, computer softwares and job readiness for participants and facilitates their engagement through the use of strong motivational strategies, methodologies and techniques · Identifies and assesses goals for self-sufficiency, and provides training in interviewing skills, resumes, difficult interviewing questions and other barriers to getting a job · Implements job readiness curriculum for high risk participants and utilizes motivational skills and capabilities that improve life management and employability · Introduces program expectations , assessment process, program flow and retention skills · Conducts mock interviews, presenting self to employers, and teaches marketing skills · Maintains all necessary records of classroom activities · Implements Job Readiness curriculum to engage participants requiring information on labor market, and pursuing suitable positions to obtain employment. · Assists participants in career preparation by identifying career and vocational choices to build a realistic employability plan to achieve objectives.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: Describe the skills, knowledge and abilities required. Include minimum educational and experience requirements and preferences.
· High School Diploma required. BA/BS degree in social/human services or education or other directly related field preferred. · Two or more years of related teaching experience. · Knowledge of labor market, industries and employer hiring practices. · Experience working with Welfare-to-Work clients, and facilitating learning to achieve employability. · Excellent interpersonal skills and written communication skills required. Excellent motivational and presentation skills.
