Business Analyst - IT Applications - Opportunity to Make a Difference

We are seeking a skilled IT Business Analyst to join our clients Merchandise Planning & Allocation IT team. This individual works as part of an IT project team, partnering with MP&A business partners to align technology solutions with business strategies by eliciting, analyzing, communicating and validating requirements for changes to business processes and information systems. For this scoping and implementation effort, these activities include documenting requirements, producing process flows, and documents functional specifications for moderately complex business processes. This individual would also support development of high level implementation plans and manage project activities based on a strong functional knowledge of applications and industry requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Business solution requirement and design discussions.
• Create functional designs, configuration, and final scope statement deliverables.
• Understand business needs and refine designs for applications.
• Lead review sessions with user groups and cross-functional technical teams.
• Align functional design with technical requirements.
• Support solution build through a strong partnership with the development team.
• Own and lead project meetings to ensure deliverables are met.
• Deliver project communication, including regular status updates.
• Provide feedback and input on the feasibility of technology solutions.
• Prepare test scenarios for various project phases.
• Understand and identify data needs, system data flow requirements, and recognize risks.
• Surface issues, concerns, and gaps in technology designs and work to address them timely.
• Agile methodology with 2-week sprint cycles.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in business systems analysis or applications programming.
• Experience in business process facilitation and documentation.
• Strong collaboration and partnership skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
• Experience with IT testing (functional integration testing and functional unit testing) and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Retail merchandising, supply chain planning, or inventory control experience preferred.
• Ability to articulate detailed action plans and work within designated timelines.
• Confident leadership and presentation skills in discovery sessions and other forums.
• Proficiency in Agile methodology, application design, Business Process Analysis, and Business Process Design.
• Familiarity with Confluence for documentation and collaboration, as well as JIRA for project management.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; Visio proficiency helpful.
• Prior experience in Inventory Control, Accounting, Retail, or Merchandise Planning and Allocation (MP&A) strongly recommended.
• Proficiency in system flow documentation.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high level of detail and accuracy.
