Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehab is seeking a FT Health Information Manager for it's Medical Records Department at our Allentown Location.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience of electronic and paper medical records maintenance and administrative experience. Acute care or nursing home experience is preferred with nursing home experience being highly preferred.
- Current RHIT or RHIA certification from AHIMA (other equivalent industry certifications that qualify an individual to be a medical records practitioner in PA may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.)
- Proficiency in the usage of Microsoft Office products, networked computer systems, and electronic medical records systems. Advanced computer and Microsoft Office skills are preferred. Epic EHR, Matrix Care, and/or PointClickCare (PCC) are preferred with PCC administration experience being highly preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities cited above as determined by the Cedarbrook Director may be considered as well.
Duties:
- Ensures that paper and electronic medical record keeping meet current Cedarbrook policy and industry standards while making recommendations to improve existing policies and processes.
- Ensures admitting diagnoses are complete and accurate while helping the team to maintain accurate diagnoses throughout a resident's stay.
- Manages the records request process to ensure timeliness and completion.
- Serves as the PCC administrator in terms of user management, system status communication to the team, and project improvement oversight.
- Serves as the HIPAA officer, working with the Administrator to ensure Cedarbrook meets all privacy standards.
- Performs chart audits as assigned.
- Liaisons with other departments to ensure that medical records support the proper functions of clinical and billing operations.
- Manages one employee in the department.
- Typical business hours onsite at the Cedarbrook Allentown location. Job duties will require occasional visits to the Cedarbrook Fountain Hill location.
- Reports to the Cedarbrook Administrator/Director.
