Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Coordinator to join our client for a remote opportunity in St. Petersburg, FL! The Tax Coordinator will play a crucial role in assisting with various tax-related tasks, including unclaimed property processes, compliance items, customer inquiries, and tax research. This Contract opportunity offers up to $29.57/Hour!
Remote/Hybrid - 3 days per month onsite!
Responsibilities:
- Support the tax department by assisting in the unclaimed property process, including responding to customer inquiries, processing due diligence letters, and documenting customer contact.
- Respond to due diligence letters, emails, and phone calls, and accurately scan and save due diligence letters and documentation.
- Maintain tax policies, procedures, and SOX documentation requirements for assigned tax discipline.
- Conduct research on tax issues related to existing or upcoming legislation in the assigned tax discipline and develop and implement solutions to address complex tax issues based on research findings.
- Assist with compliance items in the assigned tax discipline, including submitting returns for approval and ensuring documentation is saved for audit purposes.
- Drive tax process improvement through the use of technology and innovative approaches.

- Strong customer service skills with a commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction and providing professional support.
- Ability to learn and gain proficiency in new software applications quickly.
- Proactive approach to tasks and ability to work efficiently under pressure with multiple deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
- 0-1+ years of experience in tax or related field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Unclaimed Property experience is not required but considered a plus.
- Must be comfortable working part-time hours (20 hours/week).
